
Matthew Jermiason
Matthew Jermiason is a freelance trombone player and low brass doubler based in New York City with focus on Theater, Commercial, and Orchestral playing. He plays tenor trombone, bass trombone, euphonium, and tuba.
Matthew’s musical mission is to create excellent music in orchestras and horn sections. He values being an adaptable freelancer suited the music landscape of NYC. Colleagues recommend Matthew as a competent musician who has a friendly personality and professional attitude.
Matthew has an M.M. in Trombone Performance from Bowling Green State University, and studied with Brittany Lasch, Garth Simmons, and William Mathis. Matthew also has a B.S.E in Music Education from Minot State University.

Matthew has been on National Tours playing in the top venues throughout the country including the Film and Orchestra shows Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert and Naruto: The Symphonic Experience both under the directions of Emily Marshall.

Matthew regularly plays with the NYC based groups Broadway Sings, Hank Lane Music & Productions, Swingadelic Big Band, NYC Brass Choir, New Amsterdam Opera Company, Amore Opera, and Kidz Theater Company. Additionally, he is often called to sub for other trombone players.

As an educator, Matthew has a private studio of trombone students and he also teaches at Third Street Music School. He teaches students ranging from middle school to adult age.
Matthew’s interests include connecting with others with board games, walking in NYC parks, and drinking coffee. He is interested in meeting new people and working on your projects. Don't hesitate to reach out!
